Are You A Nadal Or Federer Fan?

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Do you wish of seeing Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer in the flesh someday? Do you wish to sit at the front row seats to witness the spectacular finals of the French Open or Wimbledon?

The essence of any tennis match is that every player has the chance to win a tournament. Even unseeded players surprise spectators when the former reach the finals of a Masters series or a Grand Slam tournament. The 2007 French Open, for instance, witnessed the rise of the Serbian star, Ana Ivanovic. Although she lost to the defending champion Justine Henin, Ivanovic did not lose hope and claimed the trophy of the 2008 French Open.

In the men’s draw, it is not all the time that Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal will bag the trophy. In 2008, for instance, third seeded Novak Djokovic grabbed the Australian Open trophy from Federer and the Rome Masters Series title from three-time defending champion Rafael Nadal.

This scenario is perhaps the major reason why many people dream of watching a tennis match live. People travel the world just to book a seat at their favorite player’s best surface. If you are a Federer fan, you would most likely dream of going to the Wimbledon. If you are a Rafael Nadal fan, the French Open or any other clay court tournament is certainly your best bet.

If you are a true tennis fan, you definitely have concrete plans of going to these tournaments. You may have spent months and years saving for this opportunity to come. After all, getting a good seat in these tournaments will cost you a fortune, not to mention the plane fare and the hotel that you need to book. Any travel is not complete without buying memorabilia from your destination. The usual souvenir items include key chains and t-shirts.

On your way to London or to Paris, for instance, you are torn between bringing along your briefcase just in case you have time to slip in work in your travel. Sports enthusiasts, however, will not suggest that you tag along your laptop briefcases or leather briefcases as these may not be at all sporty. You might want to grab your backpack instead.

When you are already in the tennis club ready to enjoy the spectacle that lies ahead of you, all you need to do is be with the game and enjoy it. After all, you need to get the value of your money spent in taking yourself into that venue.

Experience The 2008 Beijing Olympics Firsthand

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

There is so much buzz about the upcoming 2008 Olympics. Sports channels are bragging and advertising about their exclusive coverage of the much-awaited games. People are booking plane tickets to Beijing to witness this spectacular event. Businessmen are taking days off from the office in their efforts to become part of the Olympics.

For Beijing, the Olympics spell a number of potential business opportunities. Hotels in the country will certainly have full bookings on the days of the Olympics. Airlines will also be assured of frequent travellers flying in and out of this part of China.

Some people go into this kind of spectacle to inject a little business in their travel. Who knows? They might bump into someone whom they can do business with. As a general rule, businessmen have to keep their business card holders with them anytime, anywhere. Thus, it is important for a businessman like you to have the handiest and the most “unobtrusive” business card holders. Aside from giving you convenience, this also keeps you in style.

The sports enthusiast in you should not be repressed. Sports and business can already be rolled into one. No need to choose between the two. If you are fond of flasks, you can choose an NFL flask to express your sports enthusiasm. Stores sell these using the logos of the different football teams. All you have to do is find the NFL flask that carries the name of your favorite team.

Of course, money is an essential part of any business. In an Olympic event, it is essential that you keep your money in place. Game watching is incomplete without some chips to munch on and drinks to sip. An engraved money clip will secure your bills in the best possible way. The fact that you can engrave your initials or the Olympic rings on it gives you class. You can even have the name of your favorite Olympic player in your money clip.

With these gadgets, you can enjoy the Olympic games with a touch of both class and business. You can express your individuality by your choice of flask and business card holder. The better side of all these is the fact that you can continue to do business while enjoying the spectacle of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. After all, you need to get the value of the amount you spent in going to the Olympics.

Accomplish These Moves Before Attempting Awesome Soccer Moves Now

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

To perform some really awesome soccer moves you have to master the basics. Learning the basics is not hard but as with anything it does take practice. It is vitally important to master the moves listed in this article if you plan on becoming an excellent soccer player. Below are three basic soccer moves that everyone needs to learn first.

Starting off we are going to talk about dribbling. Dribbling is one of the most important moves you can learn in soccer. I know you may not realize it, but dribbling is one of those foundational moves that will allow you to build off of. All dribbling is, is the ability of a player to move the ball back and forth in a controlled manner from the left foot to the right foot while progressing forward. You can learn to dribble by pushing, tapping or shoving the ball with the sole, inside or outside of the foot. Before you commence practicing your dribbling skills, you first need to get acquainted with the ball. The best way to do this is to simply juggle a soccer ball with both feet. By juggling the ball, you will build up coordination and begin to get a good feel and sense of the ball which will help in all moves you attempt to learn in the future.

The second move we are going to discuss is passing. In essence, there are 2 types of passing, the long pass and the short or push pass. What encompasses passing is having the ability to move the ball from one player to the next without the other team taking it away. When it comes to accuracy, the push pass is better because it takes less field to perform. The push pass uses the inside and middle portions of either foot. In essence, you will be striking the ball with the middle inside portion of the foot that you want to pass with. Your other foot will be used to help aim the pass by being pointed in the direction you want the ball to go and planted next to the ball itself. The same foes for the long pass. The one thing to always remember is to keep your eye on the ball at all times. This aids in the accuracy of the pass.

Our final move is the actual shot. Arguably, accuracy is the most important aspect when taking a shot on goal. Most of us can kick a ball hard, but the select few who can do it accurately stand out amongst us. Using the instruction on passing the ball from above, you need to plant your foot that is not striking the ball next to the ball and pointing in the direction you want it to end up. The foot that actually kicks the ball needs to be done so with the inside and on an angle to the foot. Look down at your foot and picture it as a right angle. The top of your foot will be at ninety degrees and the bottom will be at zero degrees. You want to kick the ball at the forty five degree mark of your foot. This will yield the most power. Again, remember to always keep your eye on the ball.

So that’s it, 3 sure fire soccer moves to build a solid foundation around. Upon mastering these moves, you can then move on to learn those really awesome soccer moves that you desire. As long as you keep practicing, you’ll continue to grow as a player. You know how the old saying goes, “Practice makes perfect”, well in soccer this couldn’t be more accurate.

Title Boxing

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

The world is swarming with sports fans. I have to admit that I’m not really one of them. Surprised? Ah, don’t be. In all honesty, I do enjoy a few sporting events. The Ultimate Fighting Championship and title boxing are entertaining. I watch these as much as I’m able. In fact I even take it to the next level and practice on my own. Whether it’s Muay Thai, Wing Chun, grappling, or western boxing, I’m there. After studying these arts for a few years, I’m hooked for life. What martial art catches your attention?

In America there is definitely a fighting art that rules. This art/sport is known as title boxing. Sometimes I hate to simply refer to boxing as a sport, because this automatically makes some individuals dismiss it’s techniques as fake. Oh it’s just a sport; there fore it’s not real. Fair enough. On some level anyway. On the other hand, title boxing is a great fighting art as well. Trust me; I knew a couple amateur boxers and they could hold their own in a street altercation. There was nothing fake about their explosive right hook. It’s all in how you train and learn. I am into Chinese boxing a little more than I am title boxing, but I appreciate both. At home I like to hone my boxing skills on a B.O.B. No, this is not some poor guys name, who I keep in my cellar for routine beatings. A B.O.B. is a training aid for title boxing or any martial art. It’s a punching bag of sorts. It’s actually a step up in my opinion. It looks like a man’s upper body, but without the arms. It’s made of a rubber-like material that’s very durable. Then the base is a heavy duty plastic container you can fill with sand or water. It’s perfect for folks who like to train martial arts at home.

One thing you should always remember about title boxing or any fighting art is that they’re useless without practice. You will get nowhere if you’re a slacker. Your body needs a routine. It requires a memory of skills and applications. This only comes from practicing. So stick those gloves on or tape those hands. It’s time to get busy with your title boxing training or whatever art you prefer. This is also a great way to stay fit.

You Should Consider Getting Lessons On A Gymnastics Trampoline

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

Learning tumbling moves on a gymnastics trampoline can be something that many parents and coaches may not have thought of until now. However, many advantages are known for those who learn tumbling on a trampoline instead of on the floor. All tumble areas for a gymnast have certain trampoline aspects, but using a large trampoline to learn to tumble can be an advantage when it comes to sports training and competition.

Many coaches and parents are concerned with trampoline safety, and therefore do not want a student of gymnastics using one, especially with so much information telling parents not to ever let their child near a trampoline. The American Academy of Pediatrics is one group that warns against any use of a trampoline for any reason. They claim that most children will be hurt by doing trampoline jumping and trampoline tricks that they are not trained to do, and this can cause serious harm to a person. While this is true, if a gymnast is properly trained on how to use a trampoline to enhance their skills, then tumbling on a jumping tarp can prove to be safer than not.

A gymnastics trampoline can be seen by a student as a way to practice and stay safe; versus the use of only the mat. A gymnastics mat can be difficult to use when learning new moves. Tumbling on a trampoline can be less hurtful if the move is done incorrectly. However, when training on a mat, one can become seriously injured if the move is done incorrectly. This type of sports training can be hard on a young gymnast to overcome if they only see themselves as consistently falling and doing a maneuver wrong. Trampoline tumbling can be a godsend for many young gymnasts and for boosting their confidence in themselves.

A Gymnastics Trampoline should be found in every gymnastics center in the world. The reason is simple. Confidence in one’s abilities can prove invaluable to becoming a competitive individual in the gymnastic arena. However, if a parent still has issues with a child using a trampoline, then a little research on the internet, with regard to the advantages of this type of sports training, can help to ease their minds.

The Way To Coordinate A Great Golf Vacation

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

For regular golfers, you know what it’s like to tire of all the courses at home. There are only so many golf courses in a city or even a state, and once you’ve been golfing for years, it feels like you know them all backward and forward.

1. Golf vacations aren’t typically about last minute deals.

While most vacations like cruises and all-inclusive resorts seem to be about the last minute deals, golf vacations typically aren’t so.

Unfortunately for the prospect of your securing a golf vacations, golfers are typically great planners. So, if you want the best tee times at a popular resort or a guaranteed booking at the height of the season, make sure you book early.

2. Mid-week deals are the best deals.

Typically, many golf courses will charge higher fees on a weekend or a holiday. You’ll find the best deals, including for hotels, if you’re willing to golf during the week. This also usually means that you’ll get better tee times too.

3. If you’re a group, call ahead.

For a group of three or more, make sure the course knows you’re coming. A busy golf course can’t just slip in a large group of players, so you’ll need to book a specific tee time.

4. Check the cancellation policy.

Before you put a deposit down on a course reservation, check their cancellation policy. If you’re driving on your vacation or taking an early morning flight, you may want to avoid courses that require at least 24 hours cancellation notice.

5. Keep a folder.

If you’re planning to hit a number of courses throughout your vacation, keep a well-organized tour folder that includes maps of all the areas you’ll be visiting, contact details and directions for all the courses you’ll be playing, your hotel information and recommended restaurants in the area.

6. Opt for a package.

Popular golf destinations like the southeastern United States often offer package course tour deals that let you purchase multiple green fees to a number of different courses in one particular area. This not only lets you hit several courses, but saves you money through a bulk discount.

7. Bring a travel bag.

Unless you want broken golf clubs, invest in a travel bag designed to protect your clubs and a few golf gifts through the rough and tumble of an airport luggage system. Many companies sell hybrid travel bags that convert from a hard travel bag to a basic cart bag.

On The Look Out For Los Angeles Dodgers And San Antonio Spurs Tickets!

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Mary’s daughter Susan recently got married and moved to California where her new husband lives. Thankfully there is email, or else my friend would be devastated that her daughter is so far away . Her daughters husband is the biggest sports freak I have ever met . Baseball is his favorite sport and he happens to favor teams from California . He told me that he once went to fifty games in one season . He travels from Los Angeles to see the New York Yankees or Los Angeles Dodgers, to San Diego to see the Padres, to Oakland for the Athletics games, and also to San Francisco not to miss a Giants game. Since he is in business for himself, it is easy for him to make the time to travel. My friends son in law loves those baseball games and she was going to try to get him tickets so that they could go when she went to visit him in June, he could even bring his wife and their friends if they wanted . Thankfully she went online and found very cheap tickets for all of them . Her son in law couldn’t have been happier when she gave him the tickets, and her daughter was so excited because she is able to see her mom again .

I feel so great! I just made points with this new gal I met in the grocery store. She was looking at the apples while I was looking at the cantaloupe and I asked her if she knew how to tell if they were good . She fell for my line and helped me decide on a cantaloupe. She wasn’t married, so I assumed that she was on the market, I attempted to spark up a conversation to see if I could start dating her . I noticed what was in her cart and asked for her opinion on a certain brand of frozen food. She must have felt a connection too as we ended up talking in aisle four for over an hour. This store has a coffee shop in the front and so I asked her if she would like to join me for a latte or something. She seemed very excited about it and we sat and talked there for another two hours . I can’t believe how well we connected so we made plans to go to see Dallas Mavericks play. I was amazed when she informed me that she had attempted the previous day to purchase tickets for the exact game . I got her telephone number and told her I would call her soon. I went home and got on-line and was able to get the San Antonio Spurs tickets. When I called her she was so shocked I was able to get the tickets. I would like to think that this can develop into more ! The only thing that is wrong with this situation is that I dislike cantaloupe .
My twenty-eight year old niece is so picky, so buying her birthday presents is a chore . If I want to buy her clothes I would definitely have to take along one of her friends, as I am a lot older, therefore have different taste than she does . In the past I bought her the predictable presents such as jewelry or gift certificates, or little figurines . I would love to get her something unique . I think I might this year, I overheard her talking about this one singer and how amazing he was . She has been collecting this singer’s CD’s for quite a few years now and even I enjoy some of his songs. I guess she tried buying the tickets but apparently the box office was slammed that day . She kept getting a busy signal. She and her friend we so disappointed. I have some neighbors that know exactly where to get tickets online for cheap, even if they are impossible to get . They never had any problems purchasing tickets online and always got great seats . I decided I was going to get my niece the tickets, so I asked my neighbor to help me, so we went online and found them for a decent price, I was so excited! I couldn’t even describe how excited my niece was, it was the best birthday present I think I could have given her .

The Don’ts In Gambling

Monday, June 9th, 2008

You might not have imagined it possible, but there is such a thing as “the right way to bet”. And this guideline works on the principle of “learning from other people’s errors.” The following are gambling tips based on mistakes that are repeatedly done by people who lose.

Mistake No. 1 - No Loss Limit

If you go to the casino lacking a realistic bankroll limit, you can be sure to lose big time. Leave your check books at home and just play with whatever your pocket allows you, and when you find that you have gambled your money away, just quit betting. Don’t try to borrow cash from your friends to continue betting. If anything, a good gambler knows he should not run after his money.

Setting loss limits also apply to online casinos. Don’t bet more than what you can afford to lose. Online gaming sites usually give clients a free bet or two, so if you have already run over your bankroll, just utilize your free poker bets or free casino bets.

Mistake No. 2 - Being Clueless About the Game

You should always know the type of gambling you are betting on. Make sure you know how the game works. This way, you do not end up staking blind bets.

Not knowing how a game goes or how to play is one of the surest way to lose your money. So study how the game works and practice before you start gambling for real.

Mistake No. 3 - Getting Distracted

Not setting your sights on winning is a good way to avoid disappointment. But if you really are hard-pressed on winning, then you should keep away from any form of distraction. While you cannot control your luck, you can at least manage your environment.

Sure, it’s fun to drink and flirt around with beautiful women at the casino, but these won’t help you if you intend on raking in the cash. So drink moderately; if possible, drink nothing. It’s okay to mingle with the crowd while playing, so long as you are still able to focus on the game.

Mistake No. 4 - Gambling at the Wrong Place

Not all games are created equal - this goes for casinos, too. Some casinos give a higher pay-out in a certain game than others do. So if you prefer playing the roulette, check out the roulette payouts in different casinos before you head out for a night of betting. The same goes for Internet gaming sites.
