Coffee Tables
One of the hottest trends in interior design is the trunk coffee table. Since this trend is becoming more and more prevalent in today’s homes I decided to discuss this option in living room furniture with my significant other. The idea of a trunk coffee table is quite brilliant but some people need a little encouragement to truly embrace the concept.
My husband wasn’t really interested in the trunk coffee table at first. His apprehension was probably due to the image that he pictured in his mind. Many people picture a trunk has a dome-shaped lid when they are introduced to the idea. This made no sense to my partner.
His biggest concern was how to use the item appropriately. “How can a trunk coffee table work? You can’t put any coffee on it. It isn’t a coffee table if you can’t put anything on the thing.” It took me a minute to figure out where he was coming from but once I got the picture I tried to give him a new image of the product.
After some cynical consideration he agreed to look at the options available in the trunk coffee table. We found some really attractive items and we also found that using this kind of container for a piece of living room furniture is really smart.
There are a lot of benefits that can be considered in making this design choice for you home. First of all, you have a great space for storage. Since we have a small home the trunk coffee table is ideal because we could clear up a lot of clutter in little time. I consider the item as my little hideaway.
The great thing about storing clutter in one place is that I know where everything is. I like to keep some winter throws and extra pillows in the trunk coffee table for quick access and easy storage. The formidable container is perfect for tucking things neatly away in little time.
We also found that people can sit on the sturdy piece of furniture. This is not typical among the average trunk coffee tables but ours is quite large and strong. This extra seating comes in handy during parties and informal get-togethers.
The trunk coffee table that we chose is also great for placing beverages and snacks. I guess that this is the main reason that we have a piece of furniture like this anyway.
