How-To Cook Your Favorite Recipes

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

I often hear people say they don’t cook at home because it takes too long and they just don’t have time. Each time I hear this it makes me want to pull my hair out. I live a busy life, yet I manage to find time to cook as often as I can. Whats cool is I’m normally making the exact same dishes that you find in your favorite restaurants. Restaurants depend on being able to serve a large number of people in a timely manner. Their meals need to be simple to prepare and fast to cook. I’ve aquired a pretty nice collection of some of my favorite, famous copycat restaurant recipes which lets me enjoy being my own, private chef

I used to think I had to eat out, I always figured it was a time saver. I wanted to cook but I just didn’t have the time, or so I thought. I discovered copy cat recipes entirely by accident one day while searching the internet for a different way to make a favorite dish of mine and I’ve been hooked ever since. If you want more information on how to get and use Copycat Restaurant Recipes be sure and check out www.Recipe-Robot.com

Coffee Brew Options - From Espressos To Grande Lattes And Others

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Walking into a coffee shop can be an intimidating experience. With a menu wall full of unpronounceable names and unknown coffee flavors, it can be hard to choose what you want to order.

On the positive side of that, there are many great choices and you’ll seldom be disappointed with any. On the negative side, however, part of the reality of being human is that we can become “paralyzed” sometimes with so many options that include gourmet, organic, and tons of others - especially when standing in line with other anxious coffee drinkers behind you.

Don’t despair, just keep reading for a definition list of some of the most popular coffee drinks available at most upscale cafes and coffee shops.

Espresso

Though the term “Espresso” can also refer to the roasting method, an espresso is typically a highly concentrated shot of dark, rich, black coffee. It’s usually made in an espresso machine and is extracted by shooting hot water through a densely compacted scoop of very fine coffee grinds.

Latte

A latte is made by pouring one to two shots of espresso into a mug full of steamed milk. Typically a latte is topped with foamed milk, but this isn’t a necessity.

Americano

An americano is a shot or two of espresso in a cup filled with hot water. While diluted and not as strong as a straight espresso, it still won’t taste like a typical American coffee.

Drip Coffee

A drip coffee is your standard, basic coffee. It’s called a drip because it drips out of the percolator or coffee machine. If you’re looking for a simple, American coffee - this is it.

Cappuccino

A cappuccino is like a latte, but with less milk and more foam. It’s also much smaller and typically served in a 5-6 ounce porcelain cup.

Cafe Au Lait

A cafe au lait is typically made with standard drip coffee and two thirds of hot and foamy or steamed milk

Cafe Frappuccino

A frappuccino is actually a drink made by Starbucks - it’s a blended mix of coffee, ice, water, milk and flavored syrups. It is often sold at other coffee establishments as an iced coffee, coffee smoothie or blended coffee.

Cafe Mocha

A cafe mocha is made from a single shot of espresso, 5 to 8 ounces of steamed milk and chocolate syrup. It’s often topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Basically, the mocha is like a latte, but with a splash of chocolate added.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of different coffee variations, but these are the ones you’re most likely to run into at your local coffee shop.

Food As Motivation

Friday, July 4th, 2008

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs supports the forms of motivation that employers use. The concept suggests that people have to satisfy their basic needs first before they will be motivated by higher-level needs. For example, you need to be satisfied with food, water, and sleep before you will be motivated with security and health.

While employers give out bonuses in the form of cash, they also make use of the basic items that are believed to motivate any person. Some employers, for instance, give out dinner treats, movie passes, and company memorabilia like key chains, mugs, and paper weights.

The beauty of these giveaways lies on the fact that nowadays, simplicity still works. Employees still appreciate little gifts and tokens as an employer’s means of recognizing the former’s exemplary efforts. Top salespeople, for example, are given dinner treats at the most prestigious hotels and restaurants in town. The best call center agent may also be awarded with a number of movie tickets on top of a major prize.

These gifts, though petty, result to more essential things. If you treat your entire team out to dinner, for example, you get to have a mini-teambuilding activity. You can even do this on a weekday while everybody is at the office and while it is easier to gather them together. After lengthy hours of work, it would be fulfilling for your team to spend time with co-workers outside of their respective workstations. You may still be in your suits and coat and ties, but eating out with officemates is one way of bonding with them.

Some people are not comfortable dining with their corporate attires still on because they might stain them. Some professionals, for instance, get impatient at having their ties fall on their plates while reaching out for the palatable dishes. Fortunately, there’s a solution to that apart from table napkins. There are several accessories that will clip your tie to your shirt so it will not swing anywhere uncontrollably. Some of these accessories include tie tacks, tie bars, and tie chains. These products are excellent at keeping your best and favorite ties in place.

After dinner with your team, you may then extend the night with some social drinking. After all, some conversations are best discussed over a glass of wine or brandy. You’ll be surprised at how little you’ve known your officemates through the usual office dealings. These dinners and social drinking will definitely help you get to know your team a little bit better.

Looking For My Cell Phone Case And Phone Holder

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

My dog was running down the stairs the other down when he slipped on a phone case and fell all the way down. I am an awful parent, he broke his leg and actually had to get stitches in his back because the fall broke the glass on the cabinet and it hit him on the way down . He had to wear a plastic halo around his neck so that he couldn’t lick his stitches or try to bite off his cast with his teeth . The vets gave us strict orders on how to put the halo on correctly, but apparently my sister didn’t listen and put it on incorrectly . Apparently my sister is dyslexic, because she put the halo on backwards . If it is on the correct way, my poor puppy wouldn’t be able to reach his stitches of pull off his cast with his teeth . My sister put it on him the opposite way. It was so low that he could reach his head over the halo and chew at his stitches and broken leg . Needless to say, he tore out his stitches . More than once actually and we had to take him back to the vet to get them put back in and they’d show us how to put the halo on correctly, but my sister thought she knew better. I can’t even tell you how furious I was with my sister after the vets office, she thought she knew better? I bet the brat doesn’t even know how to spell animal!

Healthy Soups

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Winter is fast approaching and that means two things. One is that we need to break out the warmer clothing and heartier food is on the menu. It’s difficult to imagine eating a stew or casserole in the middle of summer, but when the temperature starts to dip, that type of food is always welcomed. Cooking the same meals each winter can get a bit tiresome, so consider utilizing all the free food related resources that are available online. You can find recipes for macaroni and cheese, spaghetti sauce, crock pot soup and many winter favorites all on the Internet.

Picking one recipe is often the hardest part. It’s fun to wander from website to website checking out all of the different versions of one dish. Some people add beef broth to their crock pot soup recipe while others swear by chicken broth. It’s really a matter of finding a recipe that contains ingredients that your family loves and then tweaking it to blend with their individual tastes.

Many of the popular cooking shows have websites devoted to sharing their favorite food tips. If you are a lover of these types of programs you have probably already tried to prepare a dish that you’ve seen on television. Although it may not turn out looking exactly the same as it did on television, it will probably taste just as good.

In addition to these highly exposed sites there are thousands of others that are home to secret family recipes. It is on these websites that you are likely to find original and delicious crock pot soup recipes. Many people have experimented with their crock pots and through trial and error have developed rich and hearty recipes.

Adding your own voice to one of these food focused websites can be very simple. If you have your own crock pot soup or stew recipe you can usually find several message boards to add it to. These are very much like the recipe exchanges that women would have before the Internet became so important in our lives.

If you want to feed your family new and original dishes this winter, consider using the Internet as an endless recipe book. You can find enough crock pot soup, chicken stew and tuna casserole recipes to last an entire season. You’ll be able to prepare the ingredients for a crock pot meal in the morning, let it slow cook all day and come home to a delicious and nutritious meal everyone in the family will enjoy.
